U.S. Customs and Border Protection dog named Rex detected mummified monkeys in a passenger’s luggage at Boston Logan Airport. The passenger, who had traveled from the Democratic Republic of Congo, claimed he brought the monkeys for his own consumption.

The monkeys, which are considered bushmeat, were seized and marked for destruction by the CDC because of the risk of disease. The incident happened last month but was made public on Friday. No charges were filed against the passenger.
