Hello Humans,
Well, it’s been a moment since I’ve written a thing about me. Words by me about me for you to read. Yippe? Where to start, let’s see; I like to dance and play with words. I seem to consider the concepts they explain. I do it all day with very few breaks to actually say. I have two wonderful children that their mother and I raise from separate homes. I am quite often a humble man. Most of my time is spent looking for passionate conversations. I recently found a new line that resonates with me. “I walk where the people are lonely…” I am considering the prompt and may fill an entire book of poetry on the thought. I hope to retain some sort of motivational/inspirational messaging throughout my posts here. Should I stray like today, it may be to bring a perspective full circle so others may glean what’s between. You may find me attacking your ideas or personal beliefs. I’d urge you to put that defensiveness away and use the conflict to learn what I have to say. I’ll do the same for you should you ever come through.
I am a 40 year old uneducated white male. I lived a heterosexual lifestyle with one partner from 17 until early 2024 (yes, recently at time of posting). I really don’t think anyone wants to listen to anything I have to say. Most of us are tired of listening to old white men anyway. I still urge you to read this in its entirety. I bring up a few political topics for you to juxtapose and contemplate. This is not a political post. I am not showing or withholding support for any party. I am not judging you for your choices. There is always room for accountability if you’d like to have a conversation. I wrote this in 2019 as I watched the political discourse crescendo. It was almost impossible to drown the noise as everyone collects their toys and plays in their own room.
Why can’t you
It is long and it will not offend me if you scroll on. But why limit your chance to learn and grow from someone you don’t know? Or maybe you know me and you’re tired of that too. Either way, I hope it doesn’t completely bore you. I’m going for a chance to piss everyone off all at once. Maybe you’ll hear me… maybe you won’t. I’m not sure I can write this to an audience as diverse as anyone who may see it.
I have some very awkward social issues that have been quite difficult for me to curb. I don’t know that the specifics matter. There are plenty of well documented cases of individuals with different social behavior traits that run the gambit! Take your pick and put them in my place. We are all equal, just with a different face walking to a different pace.
While watching POTUS Trump a little more now (2019) than I could stomach in the past. I’m not sure I can ever agree with most of his policies. I do find him a little more relatable. This has led me to a couple questions I’ll try to refine to one by the end. Does this make him a good leader? No, I don’t think so. In the same way I would be a terrible POTUS I think. Is that bad? I don’t know. I see an individual trying to be something he’s not. Many of us have self esteem issues we deal with. Some have the confidence to overcome them. Some have the confidence to never consider them. Others push through and endure for one reason or another. Many destroy others around them to carry through.
The Constitution of the USA is hailed to be great from every state that it incorporates. We all look to it to protect our own freedoms. How many of you use it to protect someone else’s freedoms? Even those people that disagree with you? I feel the message of the Constitution wasn’t written just for the people blessed to be born to it. I feel like it applies to the entire world and the living ecosystem that supports it.
Trump is a human, he may be bigoted, he’s definitely a Tyrant. The evidence is there clearly for everyone to share it. He is still a human, and he represents many humans like him. Does that not ring true to our Declaration? Another document that supports inherent rights in all (hu)man(ity). It’s inclusive and seductive, everyone wants to take part. Even those people that disagree with you. So many people talk about how they don’t dream alone… They weren’t just pretty words in perfect tone. Every human being is a part of one another. We depend on each other, not like a mother, brother or significant other. Perhaps our lives depend on the same ecosystem. My actions can affect all of you, even if you never effectively change. I might have seeped into your subconscious brain.
I know this is a bit strange written with familiarity. But I’m saying we are all equals, we all see the same thing when we look in the mirror. A human being. I find myself in this place where I see every human, thick or thin as my equal. I can’t let this change because of the color of the skin passed down by their kin. I can’t let this change because you think I sin. I will not see it another way. No matter how stupid you seem with everything you say. You’ll be a human, every single day. So, what does our Constitution do? It says… every human is equal and deserves the right to representation if there is taxation. It is a concept I’ve trudged through for at least 2 decades. Does someone’s cognition, mental deficiencies, behavior issues, criminal past… make them lesser or greater than you? If you aren’t taxed.. Does that lower or raise you?
I’m highly critical of every POTUS since I started to try and understand politics in 1995. I’ve been cautious of all information that comes in as absolutes. I don’t understand a lot of things many people do. I still read and learn about things way above my head. I hope to be doing it until I’m dead. I feel we do a disservice to our Race. You can find it all across the internet with trolls talking about things like: “Wow, you’re ugly! Do you have Downs or something?”
I’m trying to not let Trump’s awkward behaviors make me see him as lesser than me. I’m trying to understand that people like him are also my equals. That they deserve representation. That they deserve to hold any occupation. Because nobody deserves less. And look at this pious man. But, Wofty… Do you know what that means? Of course I do, just looked it up to be sure it’s true. I’ve never seen a man seeking such piety. I just wish he believed in more than how great he is, time and time again. If you aren’t rolling in laughter… That’s comic gold, even if it’s a disaster.
I laugh at him and his “sin” everyone believes him to be in. I sit back as it gives me hope. Half of you say: “highly intelligent people can often come off that way.” The other play: “he’s the biggest idiot we have to date.” I’m over here just thinking “wow that’s great!” I see him as my equal, and he has risen above some things that keep me in the mud.
I could do without the lies and deceit in politics. I treat it like I do my children when they tattle or correct their siblings or peers. Worry about your own issues before you try and correct some other’s. They look at me confused, I see the contradiction. But child, what you don’t see. I’m teaching myself how to be better too. I’m doing the work along with you. I know it’s hard. We can get through.
That bond is relied on. His mother does it so much better. We need each other. Our ideas are different, or perspectives are quite unique. We are constantly trying to find the middle ground that gives support both ways. I try to learn from her every day. She does the same to me. Or at least I thought that was the truth we seeked.
Some people ask me how we’ve made it almost 20 years (didn’t last 24). It’s hard and challenging, but it is what I needed out of life. Different views help me shift my perspective. It makes me think of our two party system. How, when you stop working together the divide becomes irreparable. We are meant to be taking from each side… not hide them behind walls intent to blockade.
It’s time for some therapy USA… all your personal shit is getting in the way. Save that for your home, you have the freedom to rule that in just about any way you want. Stop getting in the way of other people doing the same. We can all gain a lot, if we could each give a little. President Trump has uh, tried… his best. And I’m happy he got the chance to. If you agree with him, vote for him. If you don’t, vote for someone else. But I’d really like for each side to find that common ground, and work on using it as a foundation.
No rational person wants to see children die in school massacres. Nor do they want to see people die in pandemics. Or, want to see people suffering. My conundrum runs deep. We all want to work towards the same thing, we have different ideas how to make it sing. But, while we argue… we do nothing. There used to be a time where our predecessors would get done what they could do and not stonewall. We can educate children about gun safety without ever having them hold one. If a person can understand firing angles… they are more likely to quickly understand how to hide. That’s a scary thought… Teaching people about such things?
Imagine knowing your child is about to be educated about sex in a very public way? I will support their right to keep their kids away. Parents have rights to shelter their children. They are misguided in that they can’t see how much more power there is in truthful education. But that’s their choice to avoid damnation.
Each side of this political system does some stuff right, each side does some stuff quite poorly. Then there are quacks out there who are too impossible to be understood. They are still equal, and deserve a voice. It doesn’t matter if you agree with them. You don’t really have a choice. We all know we can’t easily sway opinions.
When can we stop bickering about them and get back to living again!? When can we take over this corrupt system and establish a government that truly represents its people? I dream of a time where businesses would only incorporate for one project, when it was over… they’d dissipate. I imagine we got away from that to seek higher quarterly gains. I see a lot of benefits for workers and investors who are looking for more stable days. But, it is clear there have been drastic changes in the way this government has run. I think it’s time for another one. What does it look like, how do we get there? I have no idea. No one will talk to me about it. I’m always liberal scum or a crazed conservative kook. I see how there is nothing wrong with seeing what rings true, no matter which side it came through.
If you think this is about politics. I urge you: I’m a creative writer looking for a universe to contain my world in. I want to see everyone have everything they need and desire. This isn’t a mission one human can embark on. It is a goal that will take work from all 3 billion of you humans. Imagine… if we just worked together.
Would you work with me for a better tomorrow?
Be Well,
WoftyLama
